... park on the roadside for a bit of batting cage practice, we ended up in Staten Island. Not before paying the $15 road toll though! It was cool to see the city from that side of the river, especially as I'd never been there before. Then we had to find our way off the Island and into New Jersey. Driving off the Island we saw a group of kiddies running around crazy in a fire hydrant fountain. Wasn't quick enough to get a picture, but it looked like fun :-)
A hair raising ...
... Statue of Liberty. It was so nice to be out in the sunshine for a change......it's a beautiful day. Then off to Chelsea Markets which was originally the meat packing warehouse but is now one of "the" places to be, where we had lunch. Time now for a walk along the High Line......a walkway above the city which was once an above ground railway. It's a beautiful place where you can just sit in the sunshine and have lunch or just relax with trees and gardens ...

Up just before 8am, had breakfast then waved goodbye to Rob as he headed off work. Around 9am, we loaded our gear into the boot (sorry trunk) of Lori's car and she drove us to the train station. We then said our goodbyes to Lori and thanked her for their wonderful hospitality and then caught the next train back to New York.

We decided we WANTED to see what was improved and what wasn't. We wanted a chance to re-cast our memories. We wanted to be on that ship again. And since this was the final year - this was our only chance.
So now the only remaining challenge - get a DEAL!
