    ... She did not die until 1935 so Harriett had a sister-in-law for comfort. I travelled further north on Highway 8 and turned west along Provincial Road 107 through Stanley and on to the Williamsburg cemetery. Harriet's father Aaron Hay is listed in the County Directory for 1884 as a farmer in the Williamsburg Settlement with postal service in Stanley. The road was not friendly but the farmer I asked directions from was. ...

    ... and Nova Scotia (which was, paradoxically, not so badly affected, though they had thousands of households out ... just not tens of thousands!) had to be brought in and, I heard later, they still hadn't got all the power restored, even to Fredricton, until Thursday ... and the outlying areas were not going to get it back till the weekend or even the next week!!!

    Really, really bad storm - glad I missed it!

    As a result, of course, I actually ended up in St John!

    ... up with the tour group in the evening, so if I am not sleeping off the jet lag (probable) then I will be taking a stroll around to see some sites on my own. I do know someone else on my tour already - my friend Lynn from England, who I met on my Sri Lanka trip last year. The first thing I'll need to do when I arrive at the airport is to get some local currency ... the Moroccan Dirham is not available outside ...

    ... street, but when you've got cast iron bats adorning your gate posts, a fancy turret one end, and a tower on the other, you've got to expect some gawkers!     Levi had 4 pictures taken, I uploaded the one where he looked the least terrified.
    You can't tell but he's wearing a sweater with a reindeer on it. I bought it 15 mins before the pics were taken, it was the last decent one at the store, but too small. I resorted to cutting the arm holes bigger with my knife in the parking lot.
    We keep it high class out here in Devon.
