... My hobbies involve training and spending time with my cocker-spaniels, sewing, gardening, and missions. My husband, Terry, and I always seem to be involved with some missions event or activity so I suppose we are addicted, and it all started with my first mission-team trip. I find it hard to believe, but this will actually be my tenth Alaska Team trip to Thailand to volunteer with Partners. Over the years I have experienced some ...
Fairbanks, Alaska, United States alaskateam... in the motorhome. I drove the PT and Art followed me, so for a while I was free to scout around the area instead of sitting around waiting for the rig to be serviced.

I visited the Alaska Wood Bowl Company. They make beautiful birch bowls and other wooden items. I considered buying some as souvenirs, but upon realizing that they had to be constantly seasoned with a special oil, I changed ...
Fairbanks, Alaska, United States nocknock... br>
We passed through a portion of the Tanana Valley State Forest which is 265 miles long. Almost 90 percent of the state is forested with the rest being shrub land. The trees in Alaska are predominately paper birch, quaking aspen, balsam poplar, black spruce, white spruce and tamarack. The forest sure was beautiful. We crossed Gerstle River on ...

The Green Michelin Guide: This is useful for museums because they have very detailed descriptions of the art, but it didn't meet our needs in Italy. Fairbanks, Alaska, United States lisetiffner... the flap, but it doesn't, you just lift up a lightly magnetic flap and reach right in. It is totally cute, extends to be a cross-body bag and would definitely hold all of our stuff for the day. The scotch-guard is an awesome feature considering our tendency to spill and it also comes in other colors although I ordered the one shown. When it came and I ...

Fairbanks, Alaska, United States alaskateam... learned about Partners and the work they are doing for the Burmese people. I knew then that someday I would be going back to Burma. Ken: I work as an electrician at a gold-mine, and enjoy hunting, fishing, snow-machining, and four-wheeling. This past winter I learned about Partners through my wife, Allison. Seeing her excitement made me excited about it. On this trip I hope to show the children God's love and that ...
Fairbanks, Alaska, United States alaskateam... is not acceptable. We returned to an empty hostel as everyone else had headed off to the "Denali Annual Chili Cook-off". Not wanting to miss out on an evenings entertainment and free dinner we went to join the party. Unfortunately most of the chili had already gone as had anything considered to be vaguely decent beer. Instead we scraped the chili pans and drank Bud. The highlight of the evening had to be the local "Blue ...
Fairbanks, Alaska, United States timdabunny... dog patrols. No mention is made of how the dog food gets out there. Unless it is by mule train it would certainly take fossil fuels to get it there. It does raise an interesting point of how the original mushers would be able to nourish themselves and their sled dogs. The obvious answer would be hunting. But what do you do with the dog team while you are around and about hunting? In conclusion, I did learn a little more about the fascinating world of dog ...
Nenema Canyon, Alaska, United States lobo... next site out in Ivotuk. We were supposed to be there yesterday morning. We woke up early, packed up, flew there, we were around the landing strip, but the fog was too dense, and we couldn't land. So... we flew back. Yesterday was just a joyride on the plane with a good view of fog and the bottom of the right wing of the little airplane. Today we were supposed to get a call from them to try again... but alas... I sit here waiting still.
