... cool but the skies have cleared and it has warmed up somewhat. We crossed into Al about noon (EDT) and continued on down I-85 crossing over into the Central Time Zone, so we had noonish twice. No, we did not eat twice, in fact we really didn't eat until normal dinner time.
It was a nice day drive. Even though we drove over 250 miles, we arrived early since we only stopped twice. Anyway, we arrived at the campground about 2:30 ...
... came up to ask where we were heading and where we came from. He talked to us the whole time we ate lunch and while we made adjustments to our bike. He mentioned that he usually stops by this station after he feeds his horses to pass a little time, and also explained that he keeps his horses on the other side of the interstate while his home is on this side, down aways. Today he was waiting for a girl who was coming in from out of town to ride one of his horses in a state ...
... the road wasn't finished yet either so there was a 4 to 8 inch drop off to the grass. The brighter side of all that, the road was wider. We stayed to the right without falling off the ledge and trucked along. Traffic is a lot lighter on Saturdays, but the logging trucks still ran. Since the traffic is lighter they seem to give us a little more room. Soon we were at the Alabama River and up a large hill to a gas station / hardware store / post ...
... Hut - funny in itself, what with neither of us looking particularly 'under 21', but hilarious because Jane got refused without picture-id. Oh how we laughed!

... Most places have full hook ups, swimming pools, rec halls, and beautiful scenery. And, the price usually includes all that plus sometimes cable, electric, water and sewer.
We have decided to head South from New England, and take the I-78, I-81 South route. We will end up in Mississippi in December, and then head West to Arizona, New Mexico, etc… I just look for places that are about 5 hours distance from eachother. We try not to drive longer ...
