... I went for waffles with syrup (who wouldn't want free waffles?!). After this, we got the 720 bus from down the road to Santa Monica bay for a day at the beach.
$1.75 each way.

One on the seafront, we found our way onto the beach and relaxed for the whole day. The beach itself is lovely and large, there is plenty of room for lots of people. The facilities are good and there are restaurants and places to get food ...

But at least we found a razor so no more blood when dressing for dinner, it seems it's hard to go back to a wet shave after 40 years! Who knew? We hopped on a bus tour today to see the sights of LA. We got picked up two streets from our hotel at 9.10am and immediately met up with a young couple from Hawthorn. It was nice to hear some Aussie accents. It was interesting though to find out that people on tours don't really want to talk to each other - unlike in the movies. Our tour guide was called BJ and he was very knowledgeable. The bus was called a Rasta bus and had a very definite Rastafarian ...

I had to have a photo with the infamous Mel's drive in restaurant sign before moving to the Hollywood walk.
