What a change from last night. Check in was with a very friendly and helpful young lady. Lovely big room with King bed. Fridge and microwave. Lovely to see a fridge with an ice box not frozen over. My compliments to the housekeeping staff for keeping the fridges defrosted. Only one bed but more than one towel each. Biggest surprise was the FREE washing machine and dryer. This hotel is what we have come to expect from Comfort Inns and restores our confidence in the brand. Close to the highway for easy access but no road noise in the room.

We reserved a whirlpool room and were immediately impressed with the size of the room. Everything was clean and we were never bothered by any noise from inside or outside the hotel. Everything in the room worked as it should. The price I paid for a whirlpool room was very reasonable.
The front desk check-in was fast. We didn't use the pool but it looked great and was being used by others. A great hotel at a great price, I would recommend this property to anyone.

The Comfort Inn at Essington seems to have worker gangs and travellers as their main clientèle. They ate a surprising amount of yoghurt for breakfast and did not stay long in the breakfast area. The check out staff were more friendly than those working last night.

Went back towards Essington to find bread. Stopped at a Wawa which sold …

We set out at 11ish and drove to Pennsylvania. Annette spotted a former mill she had been to with family before so we stopped and had a look around. They had interesting descriptions and artefacts, and it was a picturesque spot. I spotted a few horse drawn carriages driven by Amish folk on the way for Sunday visits, as is the custom; it is quite a sight, as they dress in traditional garb. If you ...

... and Illinois, always a highlight to any trip. We enjoyed two delicious salmon bakes to partake of the fresh Alaskan salmon. Of course, we got to see those bears!

This is probably our last extended trip to Alaska. The drive is long and at times ******* body and vehicle. We will always be thankful for our time spent in our 49th state. It is indeed The Last Frontier. ...

Bit of a sleep in and breakfast provided this morning. Didn't need to be on the bus until 8am. I told tour guide it was Aofie's 17th Birthday today and we should sing Happy Birthday to her. Livened everyone up a bit more. First stop is Amish Village in Ronks, Lancaster County Pennsylvania. An Amish farm that has been turned into a museum. Had farmhouse, barn, ...

... young...a bit tough to play to because none of the kids knew each other and they were shy and quiet, but John did a fantastic job. He played it up to the adults that it was a tough crowd and the parents laughed along with him as he worked the crowd. The local newspaper was there taking photos and all in all, even with the quiet crowd, we felt it was a success. The library was more than happy to keep flyers at their circulation desk and ...
