What a change from last night. Check in was with a very friendly and helpful young lady. Lovely big room with King bed. Fridge and microwave. Lovely to see a fridge with an ice box not frozen over. My compliments to the housekeeping staff for keeping the fridges defrosted. Only one bed but more than one towel each. Biggest surprise was the FREE washing machine and dryer. This hotel is what we have come to expect from Comfort Inns and restores our confidence in the brand. Close to the highway for easy access but no road noise in the room.

We reserved a whirlpool room and were immediately impressed with the size of the room. Everything was clean and we were never bothered by any noise from inside or outside the hotel. Everything in the room worked as it should. The price I paid for a whirlpool room was very reasonable.
The front desk check-in was fast. We didn't use the pool but it looked great and was being used by others. A great hotel at a great price, I would recommend this property to anyone.

The Comfort Inn at Essington seems to have worker gangs and travellers as their main clientèle. They ate a surprising amount of yoghurt for breakfast and did not stay long in the breakfast area. The check out staff were more friendly than those working last night.

Went back towards Essington to find bread. Stopped at a Wawa which sold …

We made it to the Verrazano Bridge and paid the $15.00 toll
before it was even 7:00 am. We thought we would make great time today since the
distance to our next campground was only about 120 miles. After crossing
this bridge to Staten Island we were cruising along nicely. We crossed one more

What was meant to be a short drive of 4 -5 hours all of a sudden morphed into 7 to 8. An hour wait to cross the border didn't help, along with a detour to visit one of Frank Lloyd - Wright's house which was huge and stunning as well as getting knotted up in one way and dead end streets in Buffalo. 2 hours ticked over and we were on the road to Amish country. We travelled along small roads, over ...

      Getting Ready

We are finally getting to use our newly purchased used motorhome. We purchased a motorhome to make it easier to travel with our 16 year old cat, Ember, who has a number of health issues and needs daily medication. Hopefully she will be comfortable in her home on wheels, and enjoy being with us.

All that is left is the final packing of the motorhome before we set out tomorrow morning.

This is our shakedown journey, so we hope all goes well. ...

About a year ago I came home from school and was notified that at the end of the school year my family would be moving to Valencia, Spain. Eventually, the end of the school year came and I had to say goodbye to Maryland and all the people I met there.
