As we raced through Brooklyn neighborhoods, we became aware that our "taxi" was a plain minivan, no taxi logo and no meter on the dash. What had we gotten ourselves into! ... and a beautiful drive. Since we arrived in Brooklyn later than expected, the office to the "campground"* was already closed and we were lost driving around for an hour before setting up shop in an empty tent lot. We had very friendly neighbours who shared wine and food and all the benefits of their fire and knowledge of New York. Thank you Carol Ann and Edmund! We spent the ...
