... As we headed back down, everyone in damp clothes from the day before, and Adam squeezed into my rain pants, we were blessed with some sun! Suddenly the morale of the group was heightened!
We reached our parking lot, put our gear in our cars and were off to find a hot meal! We found a delicious restaurant with amazing sandwiches and good ol' Devil's Backbone Virginia Beer (which I have been deprived of since I moved away...). # 1 Matt even got a birthday sundae ...
... fill up today. Where there was 10 of us for 3 days now we have over 40 campers enjoying the very nice campground. We have found Virginia State Parks and campgrounds to be very nice. Probably the nicest we have seen.
Well Saturday takes over to Asheville for 6 nights. I plan on playing some pickleball Monday, can't wait. We are making our way home but enjoying the last month of seeing the country.

... and tomorrow we are heading North oh Hwy 16 to see an area called Burkes Garden which is in a valley. People say it is a nice place to visit and have lunch made by the Amish. I will let you know if I make a score on homemade goodies!!
We are getting closer to getting home. Moving on the Asheville on Saturday and I have already got a place to play pickleball. So that makes me happy:))

... west viginia through picturesque farmland and we stopped off at a surprise - a local had made an exact replica of Stonehenge made out of polystyrene foam - foamhenge. One of the perks of doing a trek is the little locally known things that I wouldn't have known about if I was treking alone :) We then arrived at our next campsite - adventures at the gorge. Here we went whitewater rafting! 2 hours of watery fun! One point our instructor told us we could jump out and swim ...
... ramble in the countryside followed by a HUGE climb up a mountainside. We all made it and had a nice second breakfast stop in Meadowview. Ahhh... What a pleasant repast that was.
