Then we got off the bus and visited the Royal Palace built by Charles III in the 1700s. It was amazing!!! So beautiful ...

We have a 5 hr flight to Minneapolis and the a 55 min flight to Des Moines. We paid for upgrade seating with more leg room......best $$$ I have spent. We had lots f eg room and each seat had a flip-up tv monitor with free movies or tv, which really made the 5 hr flight go by quickly.

Got in Des Moines at 11:00 pm and we were home about midnight.

What a great adventure this has been.

We arrived in Denver around 6:30 and to our surprise, it was pretty flat. I never knew that Denver ...

... of the condition of the on/off ramps kept us going, though slooooowly.
Other than that, I saw a car manufacturing plant in Flint with the most smoke stacks ever, I had my first crossing of the mighty Mississippi River (maybe at its most narrow point at Le Clair, IL), saw loads of farms in Iowa, drove my first two hours of the trip, and witnessed Bob master the new iExit app on my phone to find the best hotel here in the lovely Des Moines, Iowa. Oh yeah, and finished at +3 ...
