    ... a book for self-publication on Amazon.com. He was excited to hear that there is no charge- the publishers of his books have charged dearly and as a result the books are quite expensive- but I plan to look at them when I visit the Library of Congress to do research.

    Back to the campground to relax and organize our gear- tomorrow we head to St. Francisville, leaving our pioneer heritage exploration for planter country!

    That evening we stayed for the rodeo. Local favorites, including some talented little kids, competed in barrel racing, calf roping and bull riding. Lots of thrills and spills!

    It was a chilly night and we headed back to our final night in the campground to snuggle in!

    Headed to the Franklinton, La. library for research. They have a wonderful selection which is well organized for genealogical researchers. We found out that using digital scanners and photos is illegal in Louisiana- all must be done on the copy machine at the library-interesting. Took some notes and made some copies- one with the signature of my 4th great grandmother- Jemima Morris Franklin Magee! We tried to visit the piece of land ...

    I had the opportunity to travel back down to Louisiana to preach for the Big Creek and Shiloh churches; I stayed with the Carman's and was also blessed by getting to visit with Ray, Hillary, and the Haden's!

    ... I moved towards him and he scurried down the wall where he found himself a little hole to hide in. I didn't name him but looking at him now he looks like a Jeff!
