... hoping to get quite close to Chamonix today so the next day we could ride a high col and reach Chamonix/Mont Blanc that afternoon. ... bike...they were slowly going up the hill and looking at the road surface. The stopped near us and got out of the car to touch the road surface. It was a little squishy from a hot day in the sun - Not happy, notes made and off they went. I was stunned - these guys ride over cobblestones and various rough tracks and not happy about squishy tarmac??
