... castle had four levels and we went all the way to the top where we saw a cross on the top of the chapel. Ben thought the views from the top were brilliant. Next stop was the Chateau de Blois. This castle had horses at the front - Jon wanted to go for a ride but sadly we didn't have time. The horses were big and had hairy feet. Blois was very pretty and the castle was excellent - looking very different from different sides. Last we ...

... menu at a restaurant in the main square. Back to the tent for rest and recuperation. Very hot and we are being irritated by thunderbugs or thrips. We were under no illusions when we started that things might not always go our way. The campsite is a bit of a letdown and the bugs are bugging us. ... a levee. We really like that, as the surface is smooth, and it's easy riding. But today we also rode through beautiful wooded areas, and along tracks that were gravelly, beside the river. The wooded tracks are beautifully cool when it's hot, but there are clouds of little thrip type insects that stick to my lip gloss, and I have to have a bit of a wipe off now and then. We have both swallowed a few ( hundred) too. As it was Sunday, a couple of the small ...

... been great, and we've even had to put sunscreen on the backs of our hands as they catch a lot of sun. Tomorrow we have decided on a shorter today, to fit in with the best towns to stay in. Our body clocks are now well adjusted and we are eating and sleeping at the right times. However, as we are fairly tired of an evening, we're usually heading to bed, when everyone else is heading out for dinner. We're eating out with the young ...
