Our next trip was to Aeon, a mall, or so I thought. I soon learned that while Aeon is a mall found throughout Japan, the Aeon we went to that day was the BIGGEST Aeon in the world (probably). This place was MASSIVE. Like theme park in Orlando massive. I'm talking 50-ish restaurants, 4 floors, a million different shops with the ...

... some times seeing fighter jets and helicopters coming and going, the centre of the island is also very developed and touristy so on spotting a poster in the guesthouse for the keruma Islands I hatched a plan to visit, after my usual last minute antics it turned out that all the ferries were fully booked due to an annual boat race around the islands, I was determined to visit so headed to the ferry port at 5.30am to hopefully get on a no-show list and ...

Japan beach day and exploring around Naha

... really love the area of the island where I live. It has a feel of a crummy, over-sized commercialized zone of concrete apartments, restaurants, and random stores everywhere, with little urban planning. However, when we drive out of there at least 30 mins in most directions, there are fun things to explore.

The first pictures are from a beach day I had with Victor and John, a Palawan and American lab member that I work with. They are ...
