... French - the guide book said there were some interesting 'murrailles' on this walk - which Andy assumed were murals - ancient Neolithic cave paintings came to mind as they are common in the area. But we found out it means 'stone wall' so the little stone buildings we found along the way were the interesting landmarks!! Ending the day with a dip in the pool and steak frites and tarte abricots for dinner was just perfect! ...

Leaving Spain behind we crossed the imaginary border into the French Riviera and spent most of the day travelling across the bottom of France tracking the coastline of the Mediterranean past small fishing villages, fields of grapes and fruit trees, countless old castles and stunningly beautiful beaches until we reached our destination of Nice.

... you had seen everything in France it surprises you again. The charming square was decked out (sorry!) with brightly coloured deck chairs and overhead with what appeared to be steam hissing from small pipes. This turned out to be a perfume steam spray and it scented the whole square and gave what we assume was an intended relaxing feel to the square as you sat there. Can't see it catching on in England but as an advertising ploy for the town it was very effective.
