... French - the guide book said there were some interesting 'murrailles' on this walk - which Andy assumed were murals - ancient Neolithic cave paintings came to mind as they are common in the area. But we found out it means 'stone wall' so the little stone buildings we found along the way were the interesting landmarks!! Ending the day with a dip in the pool and steak frites and tarte abricots for dinner was just perfect! ...
... and art galleries. A lot of artists (following in the footsteps of Matisse) move to Nice to study the effects of light on the beautiful mediterranean sea.
We then walked along the promenade and stared at the gorgeous sea. The promenade reminded Himanshu of Marine Drive in Mumbai. We were a little disappointed ...

We were hoping to catch the Petit train de Grasse first, this takes you around the city, and walked to the place where it was supposed to leave from. We soon found out that this would not be the place , the whole city is celebrating the Rose Expo for the next three days and all the main stands were being erected at the Petit Train departure post. ... you had seen everything in France it surprises you again. The charming square was decked out (sorry!) with brightly coloured deck chairs and overhead with what appeared to be steam hissing from small pipes. This turned out to be a perfume steam spray and it scented the whole square and gave what we assume was an intended relaxing feel to the square as you sat there. Can't see it catching on in England but as an advertising ploy for the town it was very effective.
... my ipod and read until we got to Arles. Once at Arles we
walked to the main centre of the town, we had an hour to look around
here. I had a gelato, then walked around, I looked at the arena. From
the arena, I walked back to the coach, taking pictures along the way.
Once we were in the coach and travelling we were given maps of Nice
as well as given our optional choices where we had to put money in it
