      ... stone. Construction started in 1924 and it took 10 months just to do the clay model which was then cast in plaster. In 1927 a block of granite was delivered to the park weighing several hundred tons, erected a year later and a wooden shed built around it to keep out the elements the plaster model alongside and then it took 3 stone carvers 14 years to complete. And that is just the Center piece! Neralee says it is her favourite place in the whole world and I think I have to agree! ...

      ... they started the race. There were a number of races on as the entire drive down we saw various activities in progress; mainly running but also walking, cycling and some sort of land skiing. The other main point on the route is Trollstigen. This is an impressive if touristic lookout over a valley and the road winding down the cliff into it.       ... loading and had a pleasant trip across a splendid fjord.
      Have topped up with
      fuel twice today,probably the equivalent of over a tankfull and
      reckon we have done about 270-280 pretty hard miles.Difficult to tell
      as my Garmin doesn't seem to have any more memory than I have.It

      We arrive in Alesund and I am looking forward to getting off the ship. I am at work at 8am and waiting for my first crew drill. This happens around 10am. The signal is "BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO".
