... nice way to spend the morning! We caught the tube to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica where, before we went inside we stopped to listen to a band playing guitar and singing for 20mins, they were singing in French but were quite entertaining so we enjoyed it. Then we climbed 300 steps to the top of the dome, to get an amazing view over Paris. It was a bloody long way ...

... put on a display including some mounted members in full uniform and a wonderful marching band with a drum major who led them through a march while playing a program of American favorites. We met, as always some very chatty trial lawyers and spouses from America and Canada, got back to the hotel about midnight and started packing for Paris We took the train to Paris, slept a bit, found our hotel and walked to the Champs Élysées , ( about 15 minutes ) ...

... and palaces to get to the Pompidou centre. The Pompidou centre was pretty awesome, I liked the light instillation and the sewing machine gun room, apparently it was different both times Aaron saw it. A very cool red, black and silver spike thing that just shimmered when you walked by it. I saw a Jackson pollack although I wasn't looking at the paintings as much as the other parts. Some disturbing sexual art as usual and also one picture of the artist that shaved two peoples heads ...

... the Opera and along Avenue de l'Opera until we reached the Louvre. From there we headed for the river through Place du Carousel and the along the River Bank towards Notre Dame. Before the Pont Neuf we stopped to browse some of the paintings on sale from the street stalls and ended up selecting one for 25€. By then it was time to find somewhere for lunch. ...
