Brattorgata 2 Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag, Trondelag, Norway, 7010, 7399-1000
As we arrived at Trondheim rail station, we realised that we had not writen down where we were staying whilst here! We lugged our backage around the city seeking out the Information Center in hope of a computer. We were directed to the local Libary which held free computers to use. After a short panic of not being able to find ...
Trondheim, Trondelag, Norway ktandash... soul can drink all the coffee that she/he may need for the next year.
But enough of the mechanics.
The scenery can only be described as riveting. From Deck 7, there is a 360 degree opportunity to view fjord after fjord, every sort of island, small farms extending to the water's edge, prominent features dating back to the days of Eric The Red and beyond, pleasant little villages tucked into the coves, mountains of every description ...
... were close to the wire, giving the impression of speed. Because the line was angled down more than the others there was an extra break, which was entered at a higher speed, causing a heavy but fun stop. More odd walking structures took us down to the off piste valley that a lot of people were deciding to ski and board down. Normally the groups take the funicular from this point back into town but as one had just left the guides suggested we walk down. Missing out on the ...
Trondheim, Trondelag, Norway v1213... all excited to start somewhere fresh again and begin meeting new people again. This Christmas I have almost a month off of getting back from Sweden and before school starts in Oregon on January 12th. I turn 21 on the 11th of January and that is so weird to me. Time is such a weird thing. It's overwhelming thinking about all the things in life I need to do when I get back to my life back home. It really ...
Trondheim, Trondelag, Norway msborje... enough all year round to prevent the fjords that lead to the ports from freezing. When I turned up to board the boat I was expecting an old steamer boat with me sleeping in the engine room or something... Far from it, the boat (MS Finnmarken) was a luxury cruiser constucted in 2002, had 8 decks, wieghts 16,000 tonnes.. wait for it and had a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gymnasium and a salsa club! Not bad for a backpacker!!
Trondheim, Norway markwilliams84Turen til Verdal og Værnes gikk via Oslo. Jeg hadde tross alt all verdens tid. I Trondheim dristet vi oss til å spise i restauranten i toppen av Tyholttårnet. Spennende opplevelse, men jeg hadde jo håpet at den spant rundt litt fortere enn den gjorde..
Trondheim, Norway kjellanders... was cockroaches, but it is probably too cold for them here. They might have decided to spend the night in my mouth - tasted like that in the morning - could've been the French wine however. So - towels 10 bucks extra, sheets 20 bucks extra, laundary 8 bucks extra, internet 50c a minute (just like Shanghai... WTF MATE?!). At least we got a good feed at a restaurant in town - just 40 bucks a meal and 12.50 for a beer. Damn oil ...
Trondheim, Norway sanny... that keep the paper chugging along. The finale was the tour of the printing station itself. It was so loud, but so cool! The papers were just flying through the machines, being sorted, cut and stacked. They even had a machine that moved the paper rolls all by itself. It was slightly intimidating to see a machine headed towards you with a roll of paper twice the size of you. Oh geez. After our adventure in Heimdal, we took a city bus into Trondheim. We walked up to our ...
