All four Allies shared administrative responsibilities for Berlin. However, in 1948, when the Western Allies extended the currency reform in the Western zones of Germany to the three western sectors of Berlin, the Soviet Union imposed ...

Smooth transfer from Gdansk to Berlin. Lovely new airport in Gdansk and a quick trip out. Everything, including roads, airports and service were upgraded for the last soccer World Cup in Poland. They took the staging of the cup very seriously and gone are the dodgy taxis, bad roads etc. in 10 years since we were last there, the whole country has lifted its game. A very lovely and cheap place for a holiday. Four can eat ...
