My final bigger touristy port of call was Charlottenburg Palace. Quite a bit further out of the city centre however easily accessible on the S Bahn. The large palace is definitely worth a visit for a quieter few hours. I didn't go inside however enjoyed a leisurely stroll free of charge through the beautifully kept gardens. I spent around an hour and a half here, however again you could easily spend more especially if you went inside.

... and the Soviets decided they wanted all of Berlin, so as the allies had only been guaranteed three air paths into West Berlin, and no roads, they erected a barbed wire fence around West Berlin in one night using thousands of soldiers, and blocked the roads off by saying they needed repairs. This was in the hope that the Allies would give up on West Berlin as it was too hard to get any supplies in, but he Allies then flew planes with supplies into West Berlin for months, to ensure ...

... amazing covers all aspects of jewish history in Germany from the beginning of time and some displays of modern and everyday jewish life and also pre and post war spent 21/2 hours walking and listening to displays so very very interesting . From there we headed back to hostel but stopped along the way to have a drink on the riverbank bar - perfect sitting on lounges having cocktails, and then lightning and thunder so we made it back and all cleared over So it late so ...

... European cities, Berlin definitely has its copper monuments. Horses, kings and even the odd sausage (everyone loves the (copper) sausage) that tend to fill your camera roll and have no story attached. Though in Berlin, there was also plenty of monuments that made you stop and think. The first that we were introduced to was the Holocaust Museum. ...
