    ... at "Kix on 66" - great food and really good vibes. Apparently the current population is between 5 and 6,000, so we went for a drive around the 'business centre' and the housing areas. In the housing, there was a mixture once again of bran new/restored, ruins, and run down. The land is starting to have cattle grazing (and maybe crops - I can't remember!)

    ... was our sleep station for us, it was cheap and a clean room. We took a wander to unwind and stretch our legs.     ... how I was walking through the museum. The gift shop was awesome. Returning to the van with neon Route 66 clock gave me the predicament of how to get it home but I didn't care. $119 dollars later on gifts we headed back on the road to Amarillo.     ... landscape. In the distance we could see a large scenic ridge with a flat top. Nearer to us though there were lots of those large wind turbines all along the route. We arrived at our destination town Tucumcari about 4:30pm and proceeded to drive around town for 30 mins or so searching out the 20 or so murals that adorn buildings in the town.
