We heard about this quirky little museum that showcased classic RVs that had been rehabbed. We thought it would be one of those road side attraction places but it ended up being a great museum. It was a private collection of rvs dating back many generations. The pride of the collection was the 1948 Flexible bus which was the actual bus used by the Gornike family in the Robin Williams movie RV. This bus is a 1948 Flxible Bus that was modified for the movie.

... Indian finds. So many moccasins, so little time! We will have to stop again on our way back through.

Driving through western Oklahoma, I now know where the lyrics to 'Oklahoma, where the winds come sweeping down the plain' originated. OMG, that was some tough driving. I had to pry my knuckles off the steering wheel when dusk set and the winds seemed to die down. Note to self, don't drive a 38' ...

... many as they used it to try and escape from the dust bowls in the mid west. After the museum we head to Jiggs Smokehouse which was part of the route 66 food culture. The smoked meat sandwiches are great! Karen has pork and I have beef brisket. The country side here is mostly flat farming land and very barren looking so it is a boring drive.

... views over the plains of Texas. This was awesome and pictures will never do it justice how vast this state is. With only about another 20 miles to go to destination we stopped briefly at the 'bug ranch' which as a rip off of the 'Cadillac ranch' but still worth a photo op! We finally made it to the steak house....home of the 72 oz steak! Chanced our luck and they had room at the motel next door which was so awesome. It was ...

Today was a road day! We drove all day through Colorado and into Texas. A long drive, but our reward for getting in early was pool time at the hotel! During mid-road-trip polling of passengers on this trip, we learned that the hotel pool ranked up there with the most exciting attractions and land formations, so this has become a priority for us, as a great way to get out some energy and unwind, especially after a long day in the car.
