Left Petaluma on Tuesday morning (Sep 3), heading for Rocklin (101 miles) and an overnight stay in the Camping World parking lot. My first parking lot experience and it turned out just fine.
Used the MH batteries to power lights and water pump to access water from the fresh water tank.
The MH has two batteries and 4 different tanks to hold: fresh water, gray water from the kitchen sink, ...
proper day in Reno today, we really wanted to go to Virgina City but
unfortunately it's impossible unless we hire a car. So we've spent
the day getting our laundry sorted, it's not a great loss as we saw
Reno in 10 minutes last night. We did really want to go see Lake
Tahoe but the smoke is meant to be really bad there as its closer to
... Alex had loads of
stuff!!! And feels quite ill right now. The sunset was incredible, I
think it was because of the smoke so it shined through beautifully.
The cook off also had loads of stalls and a lovely stall with large
pieces of artwork that had different quotes on like the following . .
in a while in a middle of an ordinary life . . . . ...
... So I got on the bike and went down the road to a 7-Eleven which had normal nozzles and got my fuel. Then I started for the town of Fernley with plans to be maybe 100 miles beyond for tonight. Well about 5 miles out of Reno the traffic (2 lane freeway, I-80) was stopped .It was creepy crawly traffic for 25 miles which took well over 3 hours to get to Fernley. In this part of the country there are not really any other roads for an alternate route ...
