          ... anything.

A typical meeting went like this, regardless of the age of the participants:

The person would approach and I'd say, "Hello! Have a seat on Santa's lap." I'd lift a child to my knee or say to a hesitant adult, "No one is too big or old to sit on Santa's lap," and each one would invariably find him- or herself sitting on me, chuckling like a little kid at the thought of someone their age going through the same motions as people ...

... this game, so the best player award belongs to one of the many Longhorns that delivered standout performances. Two receivers racked up over 100 yards, including a 7 catch, 113 yard, 1 touchdown effort from junior Mike Davis and an 8 catch, 137 yard day put together by sophomore Jaxon Shipley (or as Jim called him, F'ing Shipley). The running backs were equally solid with sophomore Joe Bergeron gaining 86 yards on 12 carries and freshman ...

We kept shooting until it got too dark to see the target, then packed everything up and went for some of the Texas delicacy we hadn't yet tried...Chicken fried steak! Nothing to do with chicken, and can barely even be called a steak hah, it's basically a piece of thin beef fried in batter, nice and healthy! It promised to be "as big as your face", yes even ...

... easy walking distance and a large nearby shopping center in case we get a hankering for a WalMart experience. We went to the steakhouse but realized we were both too sick to be very hungry, but we did our best with salads and bread.

Temperatures along the route, normally exceeding 100 degrees when we make the journey, were comfy 60's by day, and not so comfy 30’s by night. We found the remnants of recent snows occasionally, especially in New Mexico.
