    We both slept 11 hours. Checked out of the Hampton Inn Downtown and drove the campus of the University of Texas. A huge school at over 50,000 students. We made a stop at the Texas Tower and walked around it. This was the same spot where on August 1, 1966, Charles Whitman shot and killed several students and faculty. It is hard to believe that something so terrible happened in this serene location. You get a wonderful view of the Capitol building from the tower. Next we visited ...

    ... and picked a quaint Thai restaurant to have lunch at. The food was cheap but unfortunately not that great.     ... in Florida has been VERY relaxing. Clearwater has always been a favorite destination of mine, but with kids, it's even better! This is Memorial Day weekend. We have a beach day planned on Monday, followed by a great Chinese buffet with friends.
