    Really Great Hotel!

    from anonymous

I stayed at the Clarion From April 8th to April13th. I travelled with two girls under 6. I really liked my experience at the hotel. Check-in was easy. The ladies at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. The one thing I really wanted from a hotel was an interior corridor which the Clarion has. The room was clean, however, it might be time to do a little updating. I had a king bed room with a fridge and microwave which came in ultra-handy during my stay.

Its is true about the breakfast being one to pass on. I would eat somewhere else.

The pool area was nice and clean.

The hotel's location to Disney World is fantastic for an off Disney property. I got to Magic Kingdom in no time. And the hotel is only 15-20 minutes from Universal Studios. Also, it is close to international drive where a LOT of restaurants and activities are located.

There are many stores and restaurants along the drive around the hotel. Each shop has different prices so shop around.

Overall, I like the hotel, and I would stay there again.

    Very nice but...

Hotel was in a great location and very clean. The breakfast buffet was only average. The one problem was that he televison didn't work properly for our entire stay. We told the front desk 3 times, but they were indifferent.

    Outstanding

    from anonymous

Had a great time there very clean, but the weather didn't let us enjoy the heated pool or the hot both looked very good. The only problem was that the pillows were worn out, so bring your own. The breakfast buffet was very good and worth the 6.95 the juice was extra though. The shuttle to Disney took us where we needed and picked us on time. The Clarion was worth ther price and will be back again.

    Awesome!!!!!!!!

First off, thank you tripadvisor.com, you were a huge help with finding this hotel. There are so many hotels in the WDW area and without the honest reviews here, it would be impossible to make a quality decision... Anyway, on to the nitty gritty. No i don't work at the Clarion! Got an awesome rate. Corridors are interior. Lobby area is functional and clean. Check in was easy, front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was $7, but our kid ate free. The food was good (eggs [cooked to order during slow periods], hash browns, pastries, meats, yummy grapefruit and other fruit etc.) Very attentive and friendly service, also in room coffee (not so good) and free coffee just outside the breakfast buffet (better). There was a "visitors info" booth that was helpful for travel info if you dodge the timeshare pitches and multi day ticket pitches! The room was clean, bug-free, smell-free and functional. The kids channel on cable was fuzzy but otherwise the TV was reasonable and they had HBO. The beds were reasonable. The shower water pressure was excellent. We had the upgraded suite with the pullout sofa, which we used to store our luggage, so we had plenty of space. We had the same maid for the whole time and cleaned the room very well and always had plenty of clean towels. The windows did not open, but the A/C was good and there was plenty of fresh air, though i would have preferred it if it did open at least a crack. The pool was small to medium sized with a true deep end (over my head anyway) to about 6.5 ft deep i think... it was quite hot though, which would have been nice if it were cold out, but during the day it was partly sunny and 75 mostly when we were in the pool so a little too warm. There was also a one foot separate wading pool for the Young Un's but the water was ice cold so we didn't partake of it. Met some friendly Canadians as well as UK'ers and Germans by the pool. We are Midwesterners.... There was a Tiki Bar, but despite the 2-4-1 coupons they give you at checkin, we didn't buy drinks. During the day, just kept some beers in our fridge and down to the pool with a few...

The hotel is <10 minutes from WDW and ~15 min to Sea World and about 1 hour from Seminole Casino in Tampa and a similar drive to the Space Coast Beaches (highly recommend going to the beach for the day -- much better than theme parks...alas the trip was for the wife and rugrat though!). There are supermarkets, restaurants, gift shops, and all that stuff right on 192. You can easily pay much more in Orlando and not get as nice a place.

    Nice hotel.... great price

I was a bit worried about this hotel at first but, everything turned out great. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. This is a very good hotel for the money. Outdoor pool was heated which made swimming in Feb. possible. We did not go to the buffett but the prices seemed very reasonable for the amount of food.

Now the petty stuff.... The TV only gets 8 or 9 channels and the local calls are 75 cents a piece. Make sure you cell phone works there or you may be running up quite a tab on phone calls.

After all is said and done, I will definately stay here again.

    Awesome for the $$$

    from anonymous

This place was great for me and my family...Nice pool, that was super warm and clean (except for the accident from a young swimmer that closed the pool for the afternoon!)...Pool area was real nice to hang out in, and my 3 year old loved the kiddie pool. Rooms were nothing special, but clean...Staff was right on top of any complaints or issues, and were very friendly and helpful...Location was superb, with a local friend showing us the backroads...We were at Disney in 10 minutes without the traffic hassles of I-4 or 192...Our rate of $39.99 made this a great family value, and a place we will definitely "look up" when we come to the area again.

    Great value

Our stay was fantastic. The hotel staff are great and the facility is clean. There is a great pool and hot tub, the breakfast buffett was great.

If you are planning on visiting the theme parks this is the place to stay. It is only 15 minutes to the parks from the lobby.

We had a room with a micro and fridge. We bought stuff at the Wallmart super centre and had the odd meal in our room, we also made snacks and brought our own drinks to the parks. This saved lot's of $$, drinks and eats at both Disney and Universal are expensive.

The Clarion Hotel is the right choice for an economical, clean and fun place to stay in Kissimmee.

Clarion Maingate: A nice hotel at a GREAT price!

    from anonymous

We've stayed at the Clarion two times now, and we love it! It has indoor corridors which are a real plus, it's very clean, and the staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms, at least on the first floor where we stayed both times, are slightly larger than most hotels we've stayed in, and they come with a mini fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The sink is also outside of the bathroom which is very nice. Also, the parking lot is nice and open with good lighting. Plenty of good places to eat near on both sides and a cross the street as well. And on the west side of the Disney gate, not only are you closer, but the traffic is soooo much less hectic too. A great location!!! A little hint stop at a McDonald's or Burger King and pick up a copy of Florida Travel Saver Guide (or order one online) where there's always a coupon for this hotel. Over the last year the coupon has been for $49.95 per night. The second time we stayed at the Clarion Hotel Maingate was directly after staying 6 nights at WDW's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Though the property was huge and the animals were neat, we were totally disgusted at paying so much money to stay on Disney property for such a tiny room, and the staff there was not very friendly either after previously staying at the Clarion the year before. So we knew we'd paid too much for too little! We decided we didn't want to go back home with a "bad taste in our mouths," so we picked up a coupon book and called the Clarion and booked 3 nights there that were to start the following night. It was so nice to stay in a larger room, and have friendly staff at such an affordable price! Our last three days ended up being the best out of our 10 day visit to WDW! So if you are not a person that likes to hang around a hotel or resort, and your on the go at the parks all day anyway, don't waste a small fortune by staying on Disney property, stay at the Clarion instead. It's just as close, if not closer, to the actual Disney parks as most of Disney's on site properties arend down a street from the Animal Kingdom Park! The Clarion Maingate has all that you need to give you a nice, clean, and comfortable stay during your vacation. We visit WDW 2-3 times a year, and plan on staying at the Clarion from now on!

Loved the hotel but beware of the Disney Ticket Agent

    from anonymous

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They were willing to go the extra mile. Rooms were clean and had coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. Only complaint was the Disney Ticket Agent who pushed a timeshare promotion to Orange lake. Timeshare did not honor commitment for discounted tickets as promised.

    Great Hotel

    from anonymous

This hotel was great. Staff was very friendly. Had a few drinks at the pool.

Restaurant staff was great. Room was spotless.
