... so we headed back. IT'S a big city, lots of U turns ( the norm ) we ended up in Market Square, having had something to eat watching the world go by. A group of university students arrived on bicycles all dressed up in red white and blue and including their bicycles, with drums in tow. They entertained us for over hour. Tiredness got the better of us, so we headed back, watching the fire works as we drove back to our ...

What a day! This morning we left the motel after three very comfortable nights to set off for Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee. We crossed the border into Tennessee from North Carolina after 45 minutes. We found Gatlinburg very busy as they were preparing for a midnight grand 4th July parade. We ended up in the historic part of Sevierville which is in the old downtown. I told Cheryl it reminded me of Mayberry, only smaller. There was a large, old building prominently visible from the highway as we entered downtown so we drove by to see what it was.

When we reached the building, we parked alongside and got out with Harley. There were no signs on or around the building saying what it was, but we thought it looked like a ...

... traveled. Diesel prices nothing like home, we paid 2.64/gal in TN.

We caved at the mention of outstanding burgers, and went into downtown Knoxville for these delicacies, served with fries cooked in duck fat (heavenly!) and this person had to have fried green tomatoes once again. No regrets on our parts about the fat, calories, sodium or ...
