... did not jive. I finely got us out of there and got onto Old Route 66. Some times it was hard to follow. We had to stop and put water in Dave P radiator for it over heated. I gave up trying to follow Route 66 and got us onto 55 which brought us right into Springfield IL to the Route 66 Hotel Conference Center for the night. We are leaving tomorrow for our great adventure west on the Lewis & Clark Trail. We're not sure how long we will be gone, planning for 3 months. It's our first trip without a deadline, so meandering is the way we're going. We have a general plan in mind, but are free to take side trips if we want. I used Yelp and found a hole in the wall greek restaurant, and had a decent greek chicken salad, and am now at a Starbucks sitting outside typing this. The weather was great, and the day was great...Tomorrow I tackle the Lincoln Museum and Library, and then head to Iowa to the Herbert Hoover Library and ...

... was not a declining business hanging on to the bitter end, this was a successful venture that had been going for longer than we had been alive! When we had finished eating, we bought a few bits from the shop and headed out to take some pictures.

We had accomplished our first Route 66 mission - to find Cozy Dog, next we had the whole road in front of us.

We hope you are all well.

Lots of love,
Neen and Tiff xx
