Meandering in Margaret River
... popped into the Chocolate factory (we are already spoiled with Swiss chocs so no purchases there!) We saw Feta cheese being made in the Cheese factory. A visit to the Silk Road, the first commercial silk farm in Australia. A fascinating talk by the owner, who had a great sense of humour, explaining the life and times of the silkworm!
Then an unusual punctuation to the day for us, a luncheon interlude, at the Watershed winery, a delightful setting ...
Halloween, Margaret River, and Penguin Island
... chip cookies on the planet. After winery #4 we headed to Cape Naturaliste, at the northernmost point of the Margaret River region, and took a walk to a lighthouse and a whale-watching lookout. The weather was incredible and stunning and the ocean was absolutely breathtaking and cerulean blue. We saw a small king skink (a type of lizard) cross the path right in front of us, and once we got to the whale lookout we saw lots of real-live humpback and blue whales. ...

We danced as we ate crumpets and fruit for breakfast - excited for what the day had in store. The bus arrived at 11am and we clambered aboard.
