    ... wanting to do for so long so was so happy to go on it- even though by the end it felt like my feet were about to fall off.
    What I did realise about the German people was that eventhough they have so terrible things happened in the past- they have tried to show their history in their city through museums, memorials and preserving old buildings which educates the people of Berlin and others on what actually happened (facts and all) ...

    I sat back and laughed at his boldness, wondering how far he would get before he would be kicked off the train and have to find another one to jump on, just to be kicked off again. We spoke a little more, and he finally revealed to me that he couldn't go back to England because the police were looking for him. He had already spent two years in Polish prison for assault and wasn't ready to go back. Of course.

    ... restaurant in the city. This unassuming establishment, opened in 1956, is located in a downtrodden neighbourhood. Even though we arrive early, the place is already packed. As we sit down, the bustling waiter covers the table with white paper and drops a heaping plate of buttery warm bread and glasses of frothy beer in front of us.     ... to the Brandenburg gate, then back to the hotel to pick up our luggage.

    Booked taxi to the airport - couldn't face carrying luggage up and down steps on U-Bahn - best 20 euros we have spent all week. Colin got taken off to the search room at Tegel Airport where they checked his camera bag for explosives!
