Pretty emotional day today visiting the genocide museum and the Killing Fields. Really glad I went, although not been the most cheery of days! It's completely crazy how little we get taught about the Khmer Rouge at school considering what a huge atrocity it was, and how very recent! 1 in 4 people in Cambodia were killed, and the West did nothing despite it already having suffered so much from the Vietnam ...

... put his faith in the abilities of a tuk tuk driver who took him from where he was - about a street away - to some other random hostel of an incorrect name. ... they were all in Cambodian so didn't hold our interest for long. Local people were everywhere enjoying the festivities, but apparently not as many as expected. The water festival has not been held for 3 years due to floods and the death of the previous king. The last time it was held there was a stampede on a bridge which caused the death of over 300 people. Our tuk tuk driver said that the stampede occurred because some people on the bridge got electrocuted, and then others tried to ...

... idea of what you're eating and the hairs on it's legs you've got yourself a real delight and local Cambodian delicacy! I'll admit though, crocodile was much nicer. The following morning after a nice lie in and a traditional breakfast I decided to take it to the streets, hire a bike and head to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. I'll tell you about the cycle then the museum. Essentially cycling here is for madmen only, it was a hell of an operation. I asked the hostel where I could rent ...
