... they have no answer for it. Then we travelled on and had sideways rain, wipers full pelt and could see 40 metres, but my 40 kmh was not fast enough for the idiots who still overtook. Got to Villa San Giovanni and lined up for the ferry, could see the ticket booth ahead but nowhere to stop, so I did what every good Italian driver does, pull up and get out of the car to buy the ticket and not worrying who I held up. Got onto the ferry behind the funeral director who just picked up ...

... It then took me an hour walking around the town asking different people and having to go back to the vets to find the pharmacy to get the prescription - yes the pharmacy where we would get medicine for ourselves also sell the dog medicine - after 3 pharmacies I got it !!! Tia's eye looks better after one dose so sure will be better ...

... at the entrance at 9:00 when it opens because like all the sites, it is swarmed in the afternoons. We were among the first 10 people to enter the theatre. The views from above out toward the Mediterranean were terrific. Apparently the Greeks used the sea and sky for backgrounds and the Romans added arches and pillars that obstructed the view. The rooster might have crowed this morning and the train might have delivered 14 commuters somewhere but not for ears in our room at Borgo di Santa Barbara. ... landed in Catania safe and sound. Well, I admire Larry for his stamina in driving us to Taormina. The approach to Taormina consists of hairpin bends and the steepest narrow roads where it is almost impossible for two cars to pass. It is incredibly beautiful (similar to The Almalfi coastline) up high overlooking the ocean with little villages and fortifications hanging off mountainsides. I think they just decided to throw some bitumin over some old goat ...
