... busy and hot down there during July and August and I don’t think it will be much fun. I’ve happily spent more time in Spain than I intended and I’ve missed my slot to get into Italy before the summer season. No matter though, it will still be there in a couple of month’s time. In the mean time I’ll be keeping inland working my way towards the Alps, so it's soon goodbye to Spain and hello again to France.. Just when I was getting the hang of the ...

Of course it eventually appeared (after the road swung way over to what seemed like the other side of the valley), and for the first time this trip there were no others at the top when I arrived.

DAY 8/June 21: Les, Spain to Oust

... waited at the bottom in Seix and then we rolled the final 2 km to our hotel in Oust together.

I would have ridden the planned extra loop at the end of today's route if we had started earlier, it wasn't such a hot day, and we didn't have a swimming pool waiting for us. So not long after we pulled in just after 4pm, I was down at the pool with a bunch of the others who'd arrived earlier.
