Had a very nice lunch and dinner with them. Lots of fun telling old stories.
We arrived at Mill Run Creek Campground on Friday, July 24th Our campsite was located in Thornton, Indiana which is about 30 minutes outside of Indianapolis. This was the first really hot weather we had experienced on our trip thus far. Thank goodness for air conditioning. ... nice to get to see where Phil lives and studies. On the first weekend we went to a Mohican Indian Pow Wow. It was an annual event in which indigenous people get together to celebrate their heritage with lots of music and dance performances. It was in a beautiful park along the Mohican River. We ended up going on a three hour canoe trip down the river.

... section of housing at this site. A large mound where not only burial remains but a number of pearls and linen were found here. Some have theorized that at least one of the families that lived here had a higher status in the community, although there is no evidence of that in the housing area.
