    ... hitting the tourists. We arrive at our hotel and our adorable porter, Marco, checks us in and shows us how to work the actual turn of the century lift...up to our room. We snack on gorgeous cheese and prosciutto Cliffy and Sandy have gracious provided for us...then we are off to see the city. What a city it is!     ... is a very nice garden. We had a quick look through the courtyards of the Royal Residence. The Munich Residence, the largest residential palace in Germany, was the seat of the Bavarian rulers for more than 400 years. We were getting a bit hungry so found a place called Löwenbrän for lunch at 1:30. We shared the mixed 5 sausages and a pork shank. Both delicious! We then walked through Viktualienmarkt.     ... all around the area. David and I took many pictures. In some areas they had photographs of the destruction that took place in WWII. The photos showed the before and after reconstruction. Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
    Our time is up and we must return to the airport.

    Rainy Frankfurt

    ... out, and so did most everyone else on the plane. I asked the flight attendant and she said that the plane is usually full on the way to Montreal, but on the way to Frankfurt it's often less than full because there's another flight a couple of hours earlier. Oh well, I certainly wasn't complaining.

    Anyway, now I'm in Frankfurt, which is dreary, rainy and damp. But that's okay; I'm not staying long. I'm just waiting ...
