    ... by my co-pilot.

We got back to the parking lot where the nice lady informed us that we owed an extra Euro, and then we descended and were off. All of us agreed that this place that we’d stumbled into, totally unplanned, would likely be the highlight of the trip.

We roamed through the hills of Tuscany and Umbria, and I think that all of us (the adults at least) were a little sad that we wouldn’t have more time to spend ...

... kind of beautiful Orvieto lace. It was a wonderful morning and we enjoyed eating the fruits of our labor!

Later in the afternoon, we headed out to the countryside and visited Victoria's house in the next town over. It is situated on a hill overlooking Orvieto to one side and the beautiful Umbrian hills and valleys to the other. We walked among the vineyards and enjoyed seeing the signs of spring along the road.

... as the priests came out followed by a bishop and more.

The rest of the congregation ensued and as the crowd parted, the procession walked down the center of the street with the band tailing behind.

It was a really neat to be there to see the pomp and circumstance of the celebration. We asked someone later and discovered that it was San Giuseppe Day. ...
