Visiting Inveraray

We had a reservation on the 9:45 a.m. ferry back to Kennacraig so we were up and ready to go fairly early. Breakfast in the hotel was okay again.

Yesterday, we decided that we wanted to stop at Inveraray Castle on the way to Loch Lomond since it was right on the route. I purchased tickets online, but had no way to print them out. I asked at the hotel reception desk if they had a business ...

Everything is very overpriced including the car park which is stuffed full of tourist coaches, but luckily we nab one of the last street parking spaces. Luss was an ancient settlement but the stone village houses were rebuilt ...

... empty stomachs and nearly clear the place out.

Loch Lomond is only our first stop - we plan on heading up the west coast a tad and evaluate how far north we want to go. Our next destination is Oban - a harbour town still receiving boats at all times o' day. But we have to drive through the progressively rolling hills first; the pictures tell the story.
