Baseler Strasse 52 Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany, 60329, 49-69-3650-758

We got into Frankfurt at around 12:30 or so. I think.... and found are hotel pretty quick and easy. When we checked in we were told that today (may 1) is fathers day - a bank holiday...so everything is closed. Wayner and I had some pretty good snoozies on the plane so we thought we beat jet leg. We wanted to check out the Sitdel (an art muesem) and after hearing about the the holiday today we decided we best go yesterday, cause we were sure it was open. After about an hour tho, jet leg kicked...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany akregerHad a lovely second day in frankfurt, but my feet really hurt at the end. Was a holiday so alot was closed, but there really isn't much to see that needs to be open anyways. The city is just wonderful to look at and take in. Me and wayne walked around the city, saw the medival square(where there were festivities and bratwurst :) ), made our way up to some pretty little parks and gardens, and walked down by the river. I was a little sad on the train to the airport the next day...seeing frankfu...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany akregerHey everyone! I have had a very busy and exciting past week! Tuesday night our pensione, Gallo D'oro, always does theme dinner and this weeks was "Anything But Clothes (ABC)" So we had some interesting costumes. I dressed up in my new duvet cover and we were all fabulous. Afterwards it was Grace's birthday so we had a huge party in Gallo with lots of kids coming over. It was a really fun night complete with sparklers! My favorite!! On Wednesday I went to Pisa with my friends Sarah and Lindsay...
Frankfurt, Germany alikayorrJust spent 2 days in Frankfurt. Didn't do much except watch movies on the hotel cable channel and have a wee wander in the afternoon
Frankfurt, Germany gil_and_devorahJust so ya'll know, we are here safely and enjoyed the gripping tale of love between family and dog (marley and me) on the plane. Germany is all one would expect so far. It is nearly 24 hours since we've slept. We'll report back soon with photos.
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany paul-julesHallo Alles! This is our second day (and night) in Frankfurt. The city is very beautiful--a mixture of old charm, but still overwhelmingly cosmopolitan! We left the Hauptbahnhof (train station), entered the business hub and followed the skyscrapers down to the banks of the "Main" (pronounced Mein) river. Actually, the city is dubbed "Mainhattan," because the city is Germany's trade and banking capital. As usual, Paul insisted upon McMuffins--some things never change (disappointingly, they don...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany paul-julesKnackered isn't the word. It's 9pm and I've just got back to the hotel after supping a couple of cold ones and a small snack with Tammi in 'O'Reilly's', an Irish bar just across from the Hauptbahnhof, Frankfurt. When I say knackered... After another bout of baggage check-in hassle (listen to this:- they wanted $2000 for the 'extra' bag. I said they can have the bag. They said they'd let it go this time. Again!) at Singapore airport last night I boarded the plane. This was about 11pm. Lufthans...

The beer and Valium may cause a slightly hazy navigational experience while trying to catch my next flight. This will in no way cause me to actually avoid these drugs, but rather it will simply push me to do a bit of extra planning while still state-side.
I'll look up the map of the airport.
I'll work out my route from one gate to the next.
I'll look into specific landmarks to help jog my potentially foggy ...
Again it seems to be an escape from the inevitable. But somehow I actually think it's way more than that.
Why do I think that? I'm sure you are wondering what special thing happened at the end of my last entry in the first world trip ...
... the hookers seemed to still be waiting for the American GI’s. It was raining and dreary, but soon to change when Erik’s cousin, Nadine, and boyfriend, Flo, picked us up to take us to their home town outside the big city near the Tanus Mountains. We had a wonderful visit, them taking us to a traditional German restaurant where we tasted fresh apple wine. We topped it off with a visit to their apartment. What a great way to end the trip!
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany the_stamms... and had to wait for ages in a customs line because I was bringing wood back into the country ( a cuckoo clock for our house). Mum, dad, steph and scott met me at the airport and then we went out to tea with my family and scott's family at taco bill in Beacy. The service was ridiculously slow, but the company good. I barely had any sleep on the plane, but was so awake. Probably because I was so excited to be back home with everyone.
SO this is the ...
I've been in Frankfurt several times, mostly checking out the gift show in my capacity as a trade show geek in general, promoter of my frog line in particular. So I know the town a bit. But this time we merely pass through, in the middle of the night, right through the center ...
