Woke up a bit blah. The others got up had brekkie and headed to the beach. Decided I wasn't going to get any better staying in the unit so went down for a swim. Lovely. Not as warm as the mainland but amazingly clear.

For anyone wondering how we manage financially, let me explain our accommodation: we had a tent on rock solid ground with no beds, which I promise was painful. We then went to Ios, which was essentially an orgy for drunk Australians. We thought we would have to leave the next morning, but luckily the next day a lot of people left the camp, and some cooler people ...

... swims in the beautiful Aegean water, had fantastic Greek meals in little family tavernas and explored some great Greek, roman and crusader ruins. Some of these were well sign posted and organised, like Hippocrates temple/sanitarium and kos castle (another castle built by the knights of St. John, using quarried remains of the aforementioned temple), while others were stumbled upon randomly.
