Our first stop this morning was at the Apartheid museum after driving through downtown Johannesburg. It was huge and very informative. Sadly we were rushed through it and had to miss large chunks. It gave a social history of South Africa since the early 1900s. It was a must do and an eye opener for us all, especially the children. We drove to the spot where we had seen the crocodile in hopes of seeing him again. The morning was too chilly, so I took misty morning photos instead. We learned that queen termites live up to 70 years. When they die, the entire nest gives up, as they have no reason to live. These large empty nests then become homes to Mongoose, Hyenas and other animals.

... skull by millimetres. Africa is not for Sissies..... Today Im waiting for my Permit to fly to Namibia ... it take a little longer since Experimental Licensed Airplane have to go trough different Channels because this status has been abused in the past. I hope I can get it today and fly tomorrow to Luderitz. I will use the the afternoon to clean up the SX which got pretty dirty on some of the unimproved Airstrips I Landed inthe last few ...

1 week to go ... Cooking up a storm and preparing meals. Black boxes at the ready . I read an article which sums up this experience... ... through the stoppage. Upon arrival in Kimberley at about 14h15 we clocked into our very nice guesthouse and all swam to get off the road dust. The wind on the road was not pleasant and everybody was riding at an angle to counter the wind but the roads were very good which made up formthe wind.

After the swim and a sours we changed and left for the Big Hole. The big hole done, we had a beer in the pub ...
