... nights after dinner. The guy played well known songs and we all sat around singing and laughing. We made lots of friends from all around the US, one couple are even sending Ricky some baseball cards!!! Hehe!! We would definately recommend cruising with Carnival cruise lines, we had the time of our lives!!! Still missing you all, Love Court and Rick
Nassau, New Providence Island, Bahamas rickandcourt... is open in SW on Sundays. We hauled out our bucket! OBTW - there are no pump outs in the Bahamas!!! We could wait until Monday and see if we could get a maserator in Spanish Wells or take the Fast Ferry back to Nassau or continue up to Marsh Harbor which is the next big supply town. That means we miss Little Harbor and Lanyard but wanted to limit the bucket use. Sooooo, we cut short the visit to SW and headed up to Marsh Harbor ...
MARSH HARBOR, Bahamas takinbetz... That was probably a brown racer hunting lizards and insects. It just startled me because I didn't see it in the crevasses of the rocks. We passed some curly tailed lizards making their way across the rocks. Walking back down I was more careful how I stepped. I was sure I passed other snakes along the way - just as long as I didn't see them! The catamaran got off the tidal flat...finally. They were given a ...
WADERICK WELLS CAY, Bahamas takinbetzApril 11 - Happy Hour! The weekend weather is very mild with light and variable winds. If you're out of the wind, it's warm. Sky is clear blue - no storms in sight. Saturday we hung out talking with cruisers from Serendipity and then headed back to the boat to get ready for happy hour! Bananaquits or Bahama Honey Creeper: black back, yellow breast, white eyebrow I think we've become the anchorage aviary - we had 6 ...
WARDERICK Wells CAY, Bahamas takinbetz... the Bahamians have on a postage stamp and it is written about the Exumas: Isles where Columbus first unfurled The Spanish flag in the Western World Isles where the pirates once held sway, And scuttled ships off many a cay Isles of summer and endless June Velvet nights and a golden moon Waters of turquoise and lazuli, Whitest of beaches and sapphire sea Isles of romance, story and song Of gallant deeds and bitter ...
Nassau, Bahamas takinbetz... that set in - ham and cheese sounded great. Half of the v-berth was dry - so Dave opted to stay up there and I slept in the salon area. The boat just rolled and rolled all night. But... the anchor held and is still holding. This is where we came through. Didn't realize the rocks were sitting right there! We sailed between these two boats - seeing only their anchor lights - and ended up next to the catamaran - but not too close - thank God!
Chub, Bahamas takinbetz... We had mandatory pre-port orientation tonight but it should have been called a historical global studies meeting because practical advice was no part of the lecture. However we have another meeting tomorrow tonight and they will probably talk more practically then. We saw about five birds today and everyone freaked out and got so happy to see other life! It's a pretty funny site because we all get ...
Atlantic Ocean, Florida, Bahamas claudiv... I had already been here. Once the weather calmed down a bit, I went to check out the area since there is no food in this hotel either...besides breakfast. The beach is beautiful. The water is so incredibly blue. I played around in the sand and a little bit of the water while taking some pictures. Then, I had the bright idea to check out the cruise ships to see if the ...
Nassau, New Providence Island, Bahamas caliI have been to the bahamas twice. The first time was to visit the Atlantis resort with my family. It was huge and beautiful. They had awesome waterslides and an incredible aquarium. They also had some pretty sweet pools and plenty of things to do in the hotel as well. On my second trip to the bahamas I went with sorority sisters for spring break. IT was a ...
Nassau, New Providence Island, Bahamas buteng1After a short flight we arrived in the Bahamas. We were billeted at a camp so we set up our tents on the playing field. Fortunately there was a hand-pump well across the way so we didn't have to lug water very far. Our kitchen was a four burner camp stove under a tin and wood A frame but we also had a canvas tent for storage and inclement weather. There were 32 kids on the team ranging from Steve who was 11 years to Dan who was ...
