A monk from Anatolia came to Northern Cyprus and built this monastery in the 12. century and dedicated it to Mary, Jesus' mom. It's fairly well-preserved with orchards around it. Kyrenia Harbor was gorgeous! It felt as though we had stepped back in time to an old English fishing village where we would find Long John Silver drinking rum with his pirate buddies.
