... we're off to our next destination, Carson City where we'll spend a full week and investigate the area as well as check out records for Lynn's 2Grandfather's time here. As I mentioned before, he came from Wales to Massachusetts and found his way here where he worked as a silver miner at the Comstock Mine in Virginia City, Nevada.


We made it easily to Carson and got set up in a great site at the end ...

... coffee in my room and not bloody decaf! I noticed loads of police cars across the road, but never thought much of it until I saw the news. Police had shot two guys trying to rob a CVS (chemist). Sadly one died. Decided to give Reno nightlife a miss, and get room service, and an early night. I watched the Inbetweeners 2. What a pile of steaming poo! Time to sleep, long drive ...

We have lived in Reno for two and a half months now. Neither of us can adequately describe how much we like living here. This is really a fascinating little city. Well, not so little any more at 231,000 souls, it just feels smaller than it is. The warmth and friendliness of the people, the small downtown footprint, and the proximity of the very wide open spaces contribute to that small town feel.
