Wednesday August 30th San Ignacio to Concepcion Mending time first thing, so now Barb's tiny daypack had a bit more life, and the 3 boliviano repair on Pete's daypack, that had needed safety pins after half a day, was redone properly. The English guy staying in the hostel got his tour after all. Eduardo sets off again tomorrow and is picking up a couple of tourists who are flying into Los Fierros. The first bus to Concepcion left at 11am, company 31 del Este. Avoid this one ! The bus was a ri...
Sucre, Bolivia gaellelcSo after our amazing time in Cusco we are now in Bolivia. Not the most taxing border in the world as you might imagine but a bit of an annoying bus journey with stop overs in Puno not being explained to us fully never mind we are now in Copacabana and home of Lake Titicaca the worlds highest lake...We are to learn soon that Bolivia has a lot of "the highest, the biggest, the oldest...etc". On arrival we were herded into the Hotel Colonial (50b for a double room with breakfast) on the main str...
Copacabana, Copacabana, Bolivia pekingeend... going and walked straight into a lamp post, I was out of breath, thought I would faint I was laughing so much, honestly it’s something I still laugh at now…..The rest of the day we walked around the town, taking it easy. In the afternoon, I climbed a mini Eiffel tower they have in the park with many Bolivian kids (random!). As the sun went down, we packed our bags and headed to the bus terminal, ready for the 12 hour night bus to La Paz……
Sucre, Bolivia benyclaire... timetables on the internet. All we knew was that the bus terminal was a short distance south-west of the Old Town, and the name of the bus company. After tediously fruitless searching, we only managed to find the number of the bus company, and decided to ask the receptionist to call them. Apparently, there was only one bus to Montañita a day, and it left at 8pm that night, meaning that we were now no longer staying for an extra night - we had to be in Montañita by Sunday 5th.

... enough time to properly do Chile and Argentina along with the rest. I am disappointed I did not get to the east coast, or Patagonia. But, I have (hopefully) many years left and will eventually come back and get to the places I missed.
Volunteering is something I wish I would have had the time to be apart of. There are many great organizations here, and I should have given back to a land and its people that gave me so much over the last three months.

... drinking some drinks at a cafe, and since I asked, we got paid 30 bucks each, haha... good times. Then, at night, we went out to the local bar area and I met up with Veronica, from CS, and danced a while with her, and met back up with Ivette at a cafe and headed home. I´m mainly writing to just catch up on my blog real quick, and I have to go in a bit. Sorry it´s brief, but I at least want to try and catch up a bit.
Quito, Ecuador christianbjork... what to do with the next 5 days of the trip. The plan for the day was to get tickets (plane or bus) out of Quito for when Justine gets back from Galapagos, and also get a bus ticket to the remote coastal town, Canoa, to hang out and surf for a few days. I spent the whole day running around the city and wasting money on taxis only to come home not completing either task. Everyone was just getting out of work for the 3 day weekend and the bus ...
Quito, Ecuador seanathon11... of the main street. Yet I somehow found an internet cafe with wireless...this has made my entire week! My first day of classes consisted of lots and lots of Spanish. I am in a group of four ladies and we learned about Ecuadorian greetings, traveling and shopping at the market today. For our afternoon activity, we went to the open air market in a larger town fifteen minutes away. There we learned about all the different types of fruits and ...
