Good morning! The sun in shining in Veracruz and I have finished packing. Today we leave for Puebla and I'm saddened to hear that the drive is only about 3 hours long. I wish it was more as I could greatly use the sleep but c'est la vie! I'll get what I can!
Last night we performed for a crowd of over 300 people and what a receptive audience they were. It seemed small since the venue we were in held almost 4,000 people, but this crowd definitely made ...
... very serious about our work but we also have lots of fun!
We were fortunate to talk to the Secretary of Economic Development for the state of Veracruz; basically the governor's right-hand man! He assured us that we will have enough funds to cover our marketing ideas and that we will have lunch prepared for the cast each day that they arrive. That was great news :)
It was a bit slower in the afternoon. I worked on ...
... amazing! We had a date night at a nice restaurant too - been a nice rest time except stayed up late last night. Oh yeah - and this sourpuss guy at the front desk who claimed to be an evangelist told me that my tattoo of Jesus is the antichrist... - gotta love Mexican religious culture!

... to stay there so I stopped in at a nice looking hotel and they wanted $770 pesos. That was way to much for my blood so I drove around for another 1/2 hour and found and even more expensive place for $900. I some how got them down to $350 a night so I booked it for 2 days so I could rest my bum.
Coatzacoalcos, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico macrosse1Drove down from the high altitude of 10,000 feet and into the valley and into the coastal town of Coatzacoalas, which reminded me of the black sea coast of Romania - polluted air and a dirty bay with the smell of oil refineries around. We made it to the coast ...
Coatzacoalcos, Mexico courtrand... We drove through several small towns where lots if people come out to look at our large caravan of rv 's( some taking photos with cell phones). We are camped in a parking lot under a suspension bridge here- we are parked wagontrain - style- in a circle.
Coatzacoalcos, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico kjmyersFrom Mexico City east you have to cross the mountains once again (poor westy). arriving at the coasstline between Coatzacoalcos and Campeche i could see the damage that the hurricane dean had done. parts of the road was washed away in many areas, and you had to pay toll to the landowners to pass over there property (ha). whole forests where "knicked", houses of roof and just a lot of dirt everywhere.
Coatzacoalcos, Mexico aleman... and drink. Not the case in Mexico!! This isn´t just a holiday though, it´s something embraced by the entire country of Mexico! Kids have torch relays down the interstate in a pilgrimage to Mexico City (seriously, the interstate. We dodged the little psychos on our whole drive here), old women walk hundreds of miles for their pilgrimage carrying shrines (yes, in order to be a good catholic you must suffer), ¨Mary¨celebrations go on ...
Anton Lizardo, Veracruz, Mexico itsgotime... stopped twice in our large Chevy 10 passenger van with tinted windows. (I guess we look like drug lords. maybe it´s my watch.) Did You know? Trash fires in old coffee cans can double as road flares. Mexico has a Navy. And ships to sail around on. Anything for sale in Mexico has a $ sign on it and never has a price. This is for bartering. I got screwed on a soccer shirt already, though it was still a deal by American standards. keep it real, live life a little slower for a change. peace Kevin
