... truck door on my head. I had accidentally left the ignition key turned on and killed the battery overnight. He didn't actually mean to hit me in the head, but I was laying just perfect for it ...
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico chrissybz... had birthday on or around the same day) so I bought an ice cream cake to surprise them. They were all in the winter musical at Concordia and had rehearsal but it was scheduled to get done at 10:30 p.m. I arrived with the cake a little after 10:00 p.m. I was waiting for them in the front office of the theatre, ready to surprise them with candles on the cake. Little did I know that rehearsal would last until almost midnight! I sat outside in the snow with the cake as it ...
Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... amazing! We had a date night at a nice restaurant too - been a nice rest time except stayed up late last night. Oh yeah - and this sourpuss guy at the front desk who claimed to be an evangelist told me that my tattoo of Jesus is the antichrist... - gotta love Mexican religious culture!

Coatzacoalcos, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico rambler... to stay there so I stopped in at a nice looking hotel and they wanted $770 pesos. That was way to much for my blood so I drove around for another 1/2 hour and found and even more expensive place for $900. I some how got them down to $350 a night so I booked it for 2 days so I could rest my bum.
Coatzacoalcos, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico macrosse1Drove down from the high altitude of 10,000 feet and into the valley and into the coastal town of Coatzacoalas, which reminded me of the black sea coast of Romania - polluted air and a dirty bay with the smell of oil refineries around. We made it to the coast ...
Coatzacoalcos, Mexico courtrand... We drove through several small towns where lots if people come out to look at our large caravan of rv 's( some taking photos with cell phones). We are camped in a parking lot under a suspension bridge here- we are parked wagontrain - style- in a circle.
Coatzacoalcos, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico kjmyersFrom Mexico City east you have to cross the mountains once again (poor westy). arriving at the coasstline between Coatzacoalcos and Campeche i could see the damage that the hurricane dean had done. parts of the road was washed away in many areas, and you had to pay toll to the landowners to pass over there property (ha). whole forests where "knicked", houses of roof and just a lot of dirt everywhere.
Coatzacoalcos, Mexico aleman... The lessons I learned from the American Sailing Association ingrained some of the procedures in my brain and the rest was automatic pilot. That is not to say I will handle every situation well. Rather, I can say, regarding the emergency and the whole experience, it was a great start to this new life at sea. Just a note, many of the pics are from the web as I neglected to take enough of my own. I will not make the same mistake again!
Veracruz, Mexico lavidanueva... s width without hitting each other? there is your answer. what stuff is cheaper in Mexico and what stuff is not? well the internet is about a dollar an hour. Steaks are 8-9 dollars, Beers are 2 bucks average. Anything your used to in the United States like Red Bull, McDonalds, trendy clothing and stuff like that is about 20% more than it is in America. I assume this is because Americans want their creature comforts when they are abroad, and Mexicans want to cash in on American ...
