... I had a dog around. We had planned to go to Clearwater beach that day so we went off in the car, there were traffic jams for miles and when we arrived near the beach realised it was going to cost $20-30 to park for the day. The way he presented himself and the way he was so absurdly talking to us made me think that he was joking. He looked really shocked that this button was pushed and asked Courtney very sternly why she pressed the button. I was actually laughing at him because I really thought he was joking with us. The end of the long and winding road

A travel blog entry by janeyjay on Aug 13, 2013

... Parkway yesterday morning was gorgeous, but sobering. I'd driven on it Saturday evening in rain, fog and darkness. To see what I'd navigated in terrible conditions, as a novice mountain driver... let's just say that I had some very helpful guardian angels lending a hand. Whoa. My literal kissing of the ground at the Pisgah Inn when I got out of the car was more appropriate than I realize.
