A favorable aspect of traveling in India is that labor is relatively inexpensive in comparison to that in the U.S. and Europe. This meant hiring a driver to take us all over Rajasthan to visit the countless ancient temples, forts, and palaces would cost us next to nothing. A high price, however, was still to be paid given that we were goras, a minor derogatory/joking word used by Indian people to refer to white people (think gringo). Although our hotel, through which ...
... came to an end it was time to start making a move and say goodbye to the people there. I finally got a night bus to Hampi on Monday 16th having previously forfeited a ticket to stay in Goa already
The ride to Hampi was simply awful. The fact it was one of the older style buses (clean but basically built on a truck chassis) and the terrible roads meant the whole journey was being thrown side to side by sharp turns and jolted by a speed bump or pothole every 5 mins. Result? ...

Izzy was in her element and couldn't get enough of their attention, especially a gorgeous baby bull. She ended up ...
... end. I have loved every moment with this tour group but unfortunately it is now over. Everyone was so friendly, our guide was a legend and the places we visited were amazing. I'm so glad I decided to do this and I hope to use G Adventures again. I'm actually still on a tour for the next few days to see southern India but with a different group. Fingers crossed that they'll be as awesome as the previous bunch. ...
... nice but they clearly had no room for us so the nice man on reception called the taxi back and told him that he wasn't actually in Cavelossim but in Benaulim. 10Km later, we arrived at the correct hotel in the correct town.
It was 7am by now and another nice reception man booked us in and gave us room keys 7 hours
before he needed to! What a nice man..
So, we're here. We've showered, shaved and the rest and are ready to explore.
