... had daily walks along it. We celebrated my 25th birthday on the calm beach, and stuffed our faces with room service, it was a perfect day despite being away from home. The highlight of the hotel was the bed, it was so comfy, it was certainly a struggle to get out of on the checking out day. Not much else to say other than i feel very refreshed and relaxed, back down the star rating we go, were headed for Palolem. Han ...

... Today was spent visiting Old Goa which consists of a collection of old Portuguese churches. The stand out was the Se Cathedral which is the largest Catholic church in Asia. Again, the inside seemed to be less dark than the Gothic churches we are used to in Europe. Opting for the shaded pool, the Indians avoid the beach until sunset, so we pretty much have it to ourselves during the day. The sand ...

... cheap India elephant knick-knacks, etc. 99% of all the things that they sell are ****. Every time we walk down the “Main Street” (which is really just a road off the beach where all the shops and restaurants are centralized), we get constantly harassed from the annoyingly pathetic shop owners (mostly women) doing the “You need something? Come see my shop. Free to look. Come look, good price for ...

It is already Saturday, one week has passed. We headed off to Old Goa to visit a very famous church, St. Francis Xavier, who brought Christianity to Goa in the early 1400's. the church was beautiful and still remains so after 600 years! There were some markets along the road, where we enjoyed a lovely, refreshing coconut! We also headed off to Margao, which is a little shopping district. So amazing how everyone seems to share the road and not ...
