... we finally made it onto the right "highway" to the Coast. Here are best directions we received that actually worked:

"Go down this road about 5 KM and look for the soccer field on your left. Turn left at the soccer field. You'll cross over 3 bridges, then see a BIG bridge in front of you. Turn left before you go under the big bridge. Then you'll make a right, followed by another right, which will put you on the highway to the Jaco."

... all through the night is rather the "standard" in the hostels here in Jaco. This of course is my opinion... I could be wrong. In most hostels up to this point people got quiet after 11:00 PM or 12:00 AM and then you could go to sleep, except for some occasional noise here and there, nights were very quiet for the most part.
