... idea.

We didn't try our hand at panning for gold, but left that to the dozens of children on school trips. Apparently a set quantity is "fed" into the stream now and again. We were given an interesting tour of the “diggings” by a young man. Just the two of us, which was good.

The whole thing is very well done, and we couldn’t figure out exactly where we had been taken last night in the dark.
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia hughieanddoris... wines. Since neither of us had been to a winery before we weren't sure what to expect but the lady behind the counter was very helpful and suggested an order to our wine tasting. We each tried about 6 different wines, swirling and smelling it as we went along as instructed by the lady. She told us about their different wines and where they come from. At the end of it we bought two bottles, a shiraz as a present for Aine and Sean and a Sauvignon Blanc ...
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia alandrach... a simply gold bar, but one that actually worth $100,000. The park offers a demonstration of how to melt gold and make it into the bar, what tool they use and so on, and once it was done, the host asked who would like to hold the bar. Well, I wasnt slow to lift my hands!!!! So I went in the stage in front of everyone and held the heavy bar, but Jarrett was not quick with the photo camera, as he was concentrated on filming it. So since I really wanted a pic of it, we ...
Ballarat, Australia jarrettalane... in the moment." I was angry with my task and said bitterly "Fine I except." I guess I was hoping for some sort of artistic adventure, or even some sort of helping hand to the peeps I'm surrounded by. But as you have read about what Ive been up to... I have gained and continue to understand why I'm here to relax.. for there is a battle I'm to do when I get back. Its to go to court to testify to a man who claims hes a Healer. But hes not a Healer in Gods eyes... he works in ...
Melbourne, Australia carolinesheart... These formations include Loch Ard Gorge, the Grotto, London Bridge (renamed to London Arch in recent years after the 'bridge' partially collapsed), and most famously The Twelve Apostles. I took a helicopter ride up to see the Twelve Apostles and what a birds eye view we had...this was my first time in a helicopter. And it felt almost like we were floating...I wasn't even scared despite the flimsy plastic door ...
Melbourne, Australia avedawg314... nightmare) and just poked my head around. Talking about heads. They had these death masks of all the people they hanged. They were plaster busts of the deceased. Some still had some eye-lashed stuck in the cast. Little freaky. Ned Kelly, infamous Australian Robin Hood/Criminal was hanged at that jail. So were a lot of others, including 5 women. Scaffold's still there. Learned about the fine art of hanging, too. Not really a career choice, to be honest, too much Math. Beim ...
Melbourne, Australia rootaberger... and the car finally died on the gates into the caravan park, never to be started again! so we sold it the next day to a scrap man for $50! only got it for $850 so not too bad, so we worked on a plan of action the next day - we were meant to be leaving! anyway the following day we hired a car for 3 days to travel to the NSW border and then back to Melbourne and on to Adelaide. To collect the car we had to get to Thrifty in the city centre which involved a hike off 3 ...
Melbourne, Australia heliwalker... continues. A boy had come over to us minutes earlier and began the usual small talk, neither one of us paying much attention, as we were both very much focussed on our goal to get home. As soon as OUR taxi pulled over the boy jumped in and whats worse is his dad also hopped into the taxi. My point here is I realise that Chivalry is dead , but what happened to manners?Do you think Justin will bring them back anytime soon? So here is where , we both in desperation do ...
Melbourne, Australia lillirenee... jumped into my togs went to the pool area and it was aboslutly disgusting!!! It stunk of **** and full of hair clips down the bottom of the pool that had rusted into the surface - so I got no pool - sucked. Went to get a taste of the nightlife (or afternoon life) at the Ballarat Club Rooms a nice establishment with outdoor tables, gaming machines at the rear and a restraunt. Beer was cheap and the ...
Ballarat, Australia dylanc... Our hostel was on the hill above it. Only a small fence separated us from it. The cool thing was that our hostel looked like it was part of the village. It looked to be from the beginning of the 20th century. Our building was formerly a barracks. Deep wood, slanted roof, really neat. Our twin room was quaint and cozy. We were quite impressed with it all until Gerald screeched and flung his sheets off of his bed. "What?" I awoke with a start ...
