Day started slowly but in the sunshine. We set out to find early traces of the Oregon trail. Surprisingly not easy to find not much information available. However we found Vermillion Cliffs and the river crossing. Which the first toll bridge had been built charging $1 per wagon. 300 wagons passed in a day.

I scarfed down some food and relaxed by the lake all afternoon. For all the people who said Kansas was flat, you should probably bike or walk through it before you keep telling people that. The horizon looks flat, but the highways follow the natural hills. The roads don't cut into the hills here like they do in Colorado or Utah.... ...
