    Well, survived the night. Including venturing out in pitch black across the yard. Really fine actually, still woke up grumpy mind, as woken by extremely load fireworks (bangers). Sounded like they were just outside my door. Heaven knows when anyone washes around here. I've always known that it is pretty important for me. Glad I got my hair cut short a week ago or so. Washing my hair makes me almost feel alive again.

    Aforementioned breakfast. Steaming noodles, one of my first real Chinese breakfasts really. Very nourishing - not so tasty. For one of the first times feel a little cut off from everything - no internet like Jin Shan said. Mobile ok.
    And the sun is shining, the air is fresh. That's great after Changsha.

    Chinese lessons are flying along, 3 a week means that progress is swift, but making the words stick is proving a little tricky. Fortunately iTunes has some great free learn Mandarin podcasts so i will give my iPod a blast and hopefully it will begin to sink in.

    ... a bit of a wait it became clear that the last bus to Yiyang was gone. So Tom said I could stay with him and head off in the morning. Toms college is a bit random to say the least and appears to be a afterthought as the Golf Course and Corporate facilities are about a million acres and the college consists of one small teaching building.
