... up. This couldn't be easier! So off we went, speeding down the highway, weaving in and out of traffic. We were making good time, heading towards the signs that said El Yunque. Following the directions we turned down a small road that took us winding up the mountain side, switching back and forth in between brightly colored houses and hole in the wall bodegas. Even though it feels like it, I am not on vacation. I always need to remind myself of that fact. The fact that I am writing this blog as a homework, and the fact that I still have a lot of essays on my chest, and a big project on my shoulders. But I am quite enjoying writing this blog (I hope you enjoy it too), I never saw myself as a writer, but It will come with time I guess.

I got to spend quality time with my grandparents, and we explored the island together for many mutual “firsts.” I got the chance to learn about the history of the island, and revisit some of my favorite spots. Spring break was officially a success, and I can’t wait to be back in Puerto Rico again.

... chips. They seasoned it with a garlic, ginger and sesame rum, and it turned out delicious- a perfect afternoon snack.

By the time we finished the tartare and got dressed for our next adventure, it was the late afternoon. I read online about the Playa Grande Sugar Plantation, a former sugar plantation that now sits in ruins with the jungle growing up and around it. There are tours of the ruins, but you can also just go yourself, ...
